Description
The Clients were looking for a material that was unique, something that would both standout and remain timeless.
Having traveled extensively throughout their career, the clients also wanted something that spoke of another world.
Consulting with Taylored Furniture, they were encouraged to look at the palm wood offerings from Smith&Fong Durapalm. The Durapalm turned out to be just want they were looking for. Next was the style of the cabinets and as the material projected a strong and vibrant energy, it was decided that the cabinets should remain simple, clean and understated. Baltic birch plywood was used for the cabinet interiors giving them a bright and fresh feel. Everything was finished with hand-applied and buffed Rubio-Monocoat finish to give the palm
a natural, touchable feel, but also provide moisture protection and an easy to clean surface. Crush white quartz was used for the countertops and appliances as well as drawer pulls where done in brushed nickel finish.
